Yesterday, we released 6connect ProVision 5.1.2 – it’s a minor release but has some helpful features that should help with day-to-day management of IP Resources. You can find the release notes here.
Special thanks to our customers who have provided ideas for the platform, we hope the updates are helpful and as always – reach us at feedback@6connect.com!
First off is the Google Maps integration. You can check out this post for more details, but it is a great new feature.
With that out of the way, here are the details:
– IPAM Aggregate Utilization Alert – With our handy dandy task scheduler, we can do some more complex tasks like polling and checks! One easy use case we rolled out was a “utilization alert”. Want to be notified if a block hits a certain percentage? Done.
– DNS Push Schedule – Another handy feature enabled by the task scheduler. When you go to push a zone, you can now schedule when it go live. You get an email notification, but now you have the option to do a push on your timeline.
– Native Document Storage – This has been a request for a bit and we have been testing the “version 1” of this feature for a while. You now have a “Documents” gadget that is now available for any Resource. This means you can upload documents and control permissions like you do any other gadget in ProVision.
Expect to see some new augmentations to this feature.
– IPv6 RFC address validation (upgrade) – we currently do some basic validation for IPv6 addresses, but we saw some gaps that could make this smarter and faster.
As we continue working on upcoming releases, keep the feedback coming!
