IPv4 & IPv6 Network Automation Pioneering Company Adds Strength to its Executive Leadership Team
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – September 17, 2012 – 6connect, Inc., the world leader in IPv4 & IPv6 Network Automation solutions, announced today the appointment of Bill Bien as its new CEO effective immediately.
Bien brings more than 20 years of global experience in service provider and enterprise solutions, telecommunications, and IP Networking to vault 6connect into its next phase of growth and innovation. Most recently he led sales and marketing at People Power, a Silicon Valley startup that provides mobile applications and cloud controls for the Internet of Things, and before that led enterprise and government marketing and business development for Telstra, a global leader in telecommunications innovation. This built upon his experience in corporate strategy, finance and sales at Cisco Systems. Bien holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Stanford Law School and a BA degree in Economics and Chinese from the Ohio State University.

Bien’s arrival comes at a time when the network automation market is going through massive change because of the accelerating deployment of IPv6 and the number of devices exceeding the number of IPv4 addresses worldwide. The RIPE region (Europe) and APNIC region (Asia) have fully deployed IPv4 and have moved to allocating only IPv6 addresses. All other regions are in similar situations and a global changeover is quickly approaching.
