6connect is thrilled to announce the latest update to our popular ProVision software – Version 8.1.0. With this update, we have been able to add smart assign templates and enhanced search functionality that will make our software even more useful to our clients, while also setting the stage for DDI server/service lifecycle management.
The burden of manual network provisioning can bring critical functions to a standstill. Automation is the way out of this struggle, and 6connect ProVision has long been a reliable management platform for streamlining provisioning, configuration, and control tasks. While previous versions have been highly capable, our most recent release of version 8.1.0 is an exciting development that brings even more functionality to the table.
You may be thinking, OK, I’m sold, but what’s new?
Let’s take an overview of the notable new features that ProVision users may wish to utilize.
- DNS Managed Servers. There is now a native system within ProVision for DNS Managed Servers, making it possible to perform functions like creating and monitoring DNS servers from within ProVision. If you are looking for the new Managed Servers function, simply navigate to the “Servers” tab, and it will be found in that menu. The server images can be provided via VM or k8s, reach out to 6connect if you would like to see if this would be useful in your architecture.
- Smart Assign Templates. If one of the core benefits of using a platform like ProVision is to optimize processes and save time for allocation elsewhere, it makes sense to have as many tasks clearly defined in templates as possible. These reusable workflows are easy to customize and scale up, and can be used via GUI or API.
- Improved Search. To make the platform easier to navigate, upgrades have been implemented to the global search function. For instance, a search that does not return an exact match will still provide some options for blocks that might be a fit for the search. These suggestions are also driven by the multi-tenant permissions features, so usability remains high even with different user profiles and networks.
With existing features that solve many ongoing IT challenges, and a commitment to continually improve the platform through meaningful updates, 6connect is proud to serve an even wider range of clients with ProVision 8.1.
